Infrastructure projects in the areas of water and natural gas strengthen TAHAL’s footprint in the strategic Indian sub-continent.
Or Yehuda, Israel –July, 2017: TAHAL Group, a leading global provider of sustainable infrastructure development projects in emerging markets, announced today that it recently has closed two new deals for development projects in India. These water and natural gas projects add to TAHAL’s growing scope of activities in the Indian sub-continent.
The first project is a $25M drinking water development project in Jharkhand, a state in eastern India. Designed to supply water to some 24,000 homes, the project involves the construction of pumping stations, a water treatment plant, nine reservoirs, and some 580 km of pipelines. Financed by the state of Jharkhand, the project will be offered on a turnkey design-build-operate-maintain (DBOM) basis. Scheduled to be completed in three years, the implementation stage will include preliminary surveys, detailed design and construction. A five-year operations stage will commence upon completion of construction.
“Representing a strategic focus for TAHAL, India is a virtually unlimited market for all of our core business areas – water, wastewater, agriculture, solid waste and natural gas,” said Saar Bracha, CEO & President of TAHAL Group. “These new projects highlight growing demand for our end-to-end services in India, and are a testament to the hard work carried out by TAHAL India over the last number of years.”
The roughly $6M development project involves the construction of a 70 km fuel pipeline in northern India, in the area between Panipat and Jaipur. Implemented by Sterna, a member of the TAHAL group, the project is expected to run about 15 months.
“We are gratified by the trust placed in TAHAL India, as indicated by these two new important projects,” said Sumit Arora, CEO of TAHAL India. “We will continue to meet the needs of Indian governments and organizations, as a means to improving the lives of local populations across the country.”
TAHAL Group operates in India through TAHAL India, its local subsidiary that employees some 80 professionals. While TAHAL has been active in India for about two decades, the company has invested significant resources and efforts in recent years to better serve the Indian market.
